The Obama Youth Part II
Last week I posted a video of children chanting praises to Obama. I titled it The Obam Youth. I thought it was scary that parent would allow somethign like that, but this video is even worse.

With the fairly recent Pirates movies it sometimes escapes our attention that there are still real pirates out there. Some 200 people are being held hostage and around 26 ships are still held by the pirates. 62 vessels have been attacked off the coast of Africa alone this year. There is a US led effort at combating this, but the effort has hardly slowed the frequency of the attacks. It is interesting that the most powerful navy in the world, can't deal with pirates. It is not like the days of old when any navy ship ran across a pirate and could open up with all cannon blazing. Today's pirates don't have their own ships, they use speed boats and swarm a merchant man, taking her over in minutes. The average age of a merchant crew is in the 60s, the pirates on the other hand are often young men in their 20s and 30s armed with machetes and automatic rifles. Hardly a match. After a war ship encounters the pirates, the navy has to call its parent command, inform them if the situation and await orders. The ship shadows the captured vessel and then waits. In the mean time the crew is abused and the goods off loaded. The highest profile case this year has been the MV Faina, a Ukrainian registered cargo ship loaded with 33 t-72 tanks and other assorted heavy weapons. The tanks are not as much of a concern to US security as something as big as a tank is hard to hide, but it is the explosives, grenades, rocket launchers and ammunition that should be worrisome. The navy has a Burke class destroyer, USS Howards on scene, well about 10 miles away. The pirates have issued a demand for $20 Million US to release the ship. The US is not allowing the ship to off load, but is not doing anything else but watching. Its nice to know that our multibillion dollar weapon system is there watching while the estimated 30 pirates party and make phone calls to the press.

Israel will soon disappear
Looks like he is up to it again.
The president of Iran is declaring Isreal will no longer exist.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad predicted on Monday that Muslims would uproot "satanic powers" and repeated his controversial belief that Israel will soon disappear, the Mehr news agency reported.
"I must announce that the Zionist regime (Israel), with a 60-year record of genocide, plunder, invasion and betrayal is about to die and will soon be erased from the geographical scene," he said.
I hate to say it but President Mahmoud is looking more and more like someone who is an anti simite and mayeven be on the verge of hate speech. Someone should talk to him before Jimmy Carter scolds him. Oh wait... what am I thinking.. ITS OK to hate jews.

Witches. Really? Code Pink is now resorting to witchcraft to beef up the number of its supporters protesting Berkeley's controversial Marine Corps Recruiting Center. In February, the Marine Corps Recruiting Center was the site of fierce pro- and anti-war protests. It made national headlines when Berkeley's city council voted to send a letter to the recruiting station advising the Marines they were not welcome. Council members later moderated their position, saying they oppose the war in Iraq but support the troops. You want to read more of this BS out of Berkley go HERE.
The women's anti-war group has told ralliers to come equipped with spells and pointy hats Friday for "Witches, clowns and sirens day," the last of the group's weeklong homage to Mother's Day.
"Women are coming to cast spells and do rituals and to impart wisdom to figure out how we're going to end war," Zanne Sam Joi of Bay Area Code Pink told FOXNews.com.
The group's week of themed protests, which included days to galvanize grannies and bring-your-daughter-to-protest, appears to have done little to boost its flagging numbers.
A FOX News camera, which has a 24/7 live shot of the recruiting center's front door, recorded little action, and the gatherings have, until this point, been ill attended.

Global Warming Update
Global warming is a real issue that is feared by many, so with that in mind I intend to occasionally post some information on the subject. Today's item comes from KTVB in Idaho. Brundage Mountain Extends Ski Season into May Near-record snowfall and low spring temperatures are creating ideal conditions at Brundage Mountain Resort. Resort officials announced today that they will be open for a third bonus weekend in May. The resort is currently closed on weekdays, and had planned this Saturday and Sunday to be the final ski weekend of the season, but that was before 10 inches of fresh powder fell this week. Now, resort managers have decided to be open on May 3rd and 4th. "Mother Nature has been extremely kind to us this year," said resort spokesperson April Russell. "And our loyal visitors have shown that they are still interested in skiing and riding on the best snow in Idaho." Resort operators are keeping a close watch on Mother Nature and customer interest to decide if additional weekends in May are possible. This is the first time Brundage Mountain has ever offered lift service in the month of May. Brundage Mountain has received 422 inches of snowfall this season. That makes this the second snowiest winter on record. The ski resort got 422 inches in one season! I can see why driving an SUV is bad, I can see why having light bulbs that light up as soon as I turn them on is harmful. I'm ashamed that I didn't switch over to florescent bulbs with their toxic mercury, I'm sorry I have not been doing my part by buying expensive bulky reusable grocery bags (although, with a new Puppy, I am reusing the plastic grocery bags) and I am embarrassed to say I have not purchased one singe carbon offset. I know my insensitive selfish nature has really hurt the poor ski resort owners. Had I acted sooner maybe global warming would not have ruin their season and they could have made enough money to feed their hungry kids. I really need to re-evaluate my habits and lifestyle and become "green".
